Nozzle Check & Clean

Run a nozzle check daily and record an explicit pass / needs-attention outcome before completion counts.

Why It Matters

A nozzle check is the early-warning system for white-ink health. Recording an explicit outcome — not merely tapping complete — is what makes the result trustworthy. Cleaning decisions (cycle type, count, when to stop) are model-specific and must follow your approved source.

Critical Warning

Do not run cleaning cycles beyond your approved source's limit. Excessive cleaning wastes ink and can flood the capping station without resolving the issue.

Generic Guidance Boundary

This is buyer/owner guidance that organizes decisions and accountability. It does not claim universal equipment-specific facts, counts, fluid instructions, or physical steps. Exact procedures for your model come only from the approved manufacturer source. Confirm against your equipment's service manual before acting.

Generic buyer/owner guidance — applies across DTG/DTF models. Not a manufacturer-authorized procedure and does not claim applicable models. Always confirm against your equipment's service manual.

Step-by-Step

  1. 1

Print the nozzle-check pattern using your printer's maintenance menu.

Method and pattern are model-specific — follow the approved source.

  2. 2

Inspect the white channel rows against the pass/fail criteria in your approved source.

Do not apply a universal missing-nozzle count; thresholds differ by model.

  3. 3

Choose an explicit outcome: 100% pass, or Needs attention.

Completion is only recorded after you choose. A bare tap never counts as a verified pass.

  4. 4

If Needs attention, follow the approved cleaning decision path — then re-check.

Stop and escalate if the approved threshold for a service call is met.

  5. 5

Record the outcome with a timestamp.

Verified passes feed your achievement progress honestly.

A verified pass only counts from an explicit 100% pass — a bare tap never counts.

Photo Evidence (optional)

A photo documents the nozzle pattern but does not mark the check complete. Completion still requires an explicit 100% pass or needs-attention outcome.
